Canine & Equine Stem Cell Banking - Spay, Neuter & Umbilical Stem Cell Storage

canine veterinarians

The therapeutic use of canine stem cells is increasing. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have proven to be effective in both clinical trials and veterinary practices to treat orthopedic and other conditions. While it is possible to obtain a Stromal Vascular Fraction, which includes some stem cells, from the adipose tissue of an adult dog, it is a painful and invasive surgical procedure usually performed on an elderly or ill dog. VetiCell is proud to introduce alternatives to this type of procedure.

MSCs can be obtained from an animal’s reproductive tissue removed during a spay or neuter procedure. Unlike the adipose tissue derived MSCs, it does not require a separate, invasive procedure whose sole purpose is to procure stem cells. Instead of throwing this valuable tissue away, VetiCell believes pet owners should have the option to harvest and preservation their pet’s MSCs for later use.

VetiCell compensates veterinarians for each reproductive collection performed. You may receive inquiries from your clients who have been in direct contact with us or have encountered our marketing materials. We invite you, your staff and these clients to contact us so we may answer any questions or coordinate enrollment with VetiCell.

After registering with VetiCell, your client is sent a collection kit. It includes all collection materials needed and a full set of detailed instructions for them and you. We are always available to speak directly to you or your customer to answer any questions. The client will present this kit to you when they arrive for the procedure.  Collection is performed by you immediately after the procedure is completed. No additional incisions or drugs will be needed in order to complete the VetiCell collection. You simply place the removed tissues (ovaries, uterus, or testes) into the sterile specimen cup we provide, complete a single sheet of paperwork and seal the kit for delivery.  Our laboratory results can be supplied to your clinic upon your request.

Many clinics routinely discuss our process with their customers. If you are interested in presenting this program to them, we have several ways to support you and your staff. We have free information cards you can display. We have a discreet “partner” logo and hyperlink for your website.  We can even leave complimentary collection kits with you for last minute enrollments.  For each pet’s reproductive tissue collected, you will receive a collection fee.
